Using Happiful and Take a break magazines as reference.
Magazine website conventions:
- House style
- Hyperlinks
- Related ads
- Links to related publication
- How busy the page looks
- Logo placement
- Articles from the magazines current issue
- A place to buy or subscribe to the publication
Happiful:
- Logo at the top left of screen, and links to the homepage.
- There is a task/control bar below the logo linking to different pages. E.g. News, wellbeing, relationships. The topics reflect the magazines main purpose (mental health).
- The top right corner has a button that shows you how to buy the magazine along with a search and tool bar that gives you information on what Happiful is.
Take a break:
- There is a logo on the top left of the screen, it links to the homepage and follows when you scroll down.
- Pictures of different editions feature on the home page- used to enhance the website to advertise product.
- There are links to other sections/pages at the top (control bar). E.g. competitions, pets, lifestyle. they all relate to the magazines overall topic.
- There are links /ads to other websites advertising take a break holiday offers.
- Below the large image on the homepage has a brief introduction to the magazine.
- Colour scheme is pink and white.
